So... What is this, again?
This is a text and image based, interactive adoptables/sim game. =) You "adopt" a monster (via either the monsterpedia or the sands), raise it in the forums.

Do I have to use the forums?
Well, no. You can always just put the monsters on a webpage, on your Myspace, in a Subeta profile, so on so forth. They'll still grow and everything, but believe me, it's much more beneficial (and fun!) to raise them in the forums.

Do I have to register an account to use the forums?
I understand that a lot of people have trouble with their parents letting them make accounts for stuff like this. That's understandable, so for now I'm not going to require registered accounts. Just remember that if you're using guest mode, anybody can pretend to be you. I have IPs logged on the forums so if something begins to look too suspicious, I'll look in to it; just know that it is possible.

How many monsters are we allowed to have?
Overall, as many as you'd like. However, I'm going to have to limit the number of variations you have to 2. That is, you can only have 2 Dappled Iijok, 2 Fragile Iijok, etc. Sorry, but it's draining on the bandwidth to display a thousand of the same picture - not to mention, it's just pointless.

For the customs and stuff - why can't we pay using checks?
Because that would require giving you my full name, which I would really rather not do. It's a security issue, you understand. If you feel that there's absolutely no other way to handle payment, get in contact with me and we'll see what we can work out.

How many accounts are we allowed to have?
As per the new rules of the Hidden Crossroads v2 - only one.

What happened to the DWF 'Branch' at HxR?
Rather than owning a satellite shop there as I originally intended, Spirit was actually kind enough to extend an invitation to the whole of DWF. As of early 2008, we are part of the "Hidden Crossroads" adoptables community, beside MML, Evelon, and Draconics.

What does this mean for us?
It means that all of your monsters will be raised in the DWF section of the HxR. You'll be able to interact with monsters from all of the other branches of HxR - MML, Evelon, and Draconics - freely... and this opens up far more areas of exploration to you.

I'm confused! What on earth are MML, Evelon, and Draconics?
Oops! MML - Magical Menagerie Laboratories - is a website done by Spirit. It's very much like this one, if you'd like to check it out (and I recommend you do; he's very good at what he does =]) He also owns Draconics. Evelon is another adoptables site, owned and operated by the talented baals_baby.
